Naomi
Morisawa De Koven is an
experienced business and financing lawyer based in Ottawa, Ontario and the
founder of Morisawa De Koven Professional Corporation. Naomi works
regularly with entrepreneurs, business owners and management of
knowledge-based companies on corporate, commercial, and financing issues,
including ways in which businesses can prepare to meet the challenges
posed by rapid growth, financial hardship or changing sales and investment
climates.
Naomi speaks regularly on topics relating to small and
medium-sized businesses. She was appointed to the Ontario Securities
Commission’s Small Business Advisory Committee for two terms and received
the Ottawa Business Journal's Forty under 40 award. She is
also Chairman of the board of directors of Volunteer Ottawa, a former
director of Calotto Capital Inc., and a director and corporate secretary of a
number of private companies. Naomi co-founded FUN for Tech Women, a
not-for-profit organization which supports women in becoming leaders in
technology and other knowledge-based industries by providing enlightening,
motivational and fun opportunities to build and strengthen valuable networks.
Naomi was a
Toronto-based partner at a national law firm prior to moving to
Ottawa. Naomi earned her LL.B. at the University of Toronto and her
B.A. from McGill University. She was called to the Ontario Bar in
